Safeorg's director, PAUL McGRATH,
has extensive experience in the field of Occupational Health &
Safety (OHS) management and in operational management. He worked in
specialist OHS positions for 8 years for a major water utility. For 3
years (2004-2006) he
held the position of Health & Safety Manager of that
utility. His risk management experience includes the development
of the risk assessment procedure and training package for the water
utility and delivered this across key business units.
As
well as being a qualified and experienced OH&S professional (8
years), OHS management systems auditor, and workplace trainer, Paul was
also OHS coordinator with the mechanical electrical maintenance
business of a major water utility for 5 years. During that time he led
significant safety culture change in that business.
An experienced senior manager (25
years) including quality assurance management (5 years), senior
operational management (17 years) and OH&S management roles (3
years), Paul managed dangerous goods and pharmaceutical manufacturing
facilities for 14 years for the Australian arm of multinational companies. Paul was listed as the responsible person on
pharmaceutical manufacturer’s licences for 12 years.
Paul was the industry
representative at NSW Government’s Safety Summit 2005 and the
industry representative on the working party developing WorkCover's
guidelines for ‘Work Near Underground Services’.
He also presented on ‘Driving Cultural Change through PPIs’ to
industry conference [IQPC, September 2004] on a case study on the use
of positive performance indicators to improve safety performance.
Paul
brings his practical operational and OHS risk management experience to
